# Hire developers on the AyHire website

> The website is AyHire for people. You describe a role, AyHire finds the developers behind matching code, reads their work, checks who is open to work, and tells you who to talk to first and why. You approve. Sign in at https://ayhire.com/auth/sign-in, then open https://ayhire.com/app.

## Roles

A role is a title, a few words on what the person should be good at, and the search AyHire runs for it: what the code is about (for example "agent framework") and, optionally, a language. AyHire suggests the search from what you wrote and shows it before it runs, so you can change it.

When a role is searched, AyHire finds the people who wrote most of the most-starred matching repos, then scores the five who wrote the most of that code and checks their availability. Anyone else can be scored from the role page. Searching again later adds people who were not there before, and Home shows them.

## AyHire's call

Every person in a role gets a call instead of a number:

- **A pick**: worth talking to, best first. People who are open to work (or employed but open) come first, then people whose availability is unknown, then people with a job and no sign of looking. Being employed never sets someone aside; most strong engineers have a job.
- **Set aside for now**: below the bar on the work AyHire read.
- **Not looked at yet**: found by the search, not scored.

Each call has one line of why and, when there is one, one thing to check (a red flag, a LinkedIn match that is only a guess, or unknown availability). The six scores and their evidence are on the person's page, under "See the proof".

## What you decide

Shortlist, Not now (with Undo), and Watch. The Shortlist keeps notes and when you marked someone as contacted. Watching someone means Home shows a change when AyHire re-checks their availability. AyHire does not send reminders or alerts.

## Limits

- New analyses: 20 an hour per account. A saved analysis from the last 30 days is free and instant.
- Availability checks: 30 an hour per account, saved for 30 days.
- The sidebar shows what is left this hour.
